Our pain management specialists can help relieve, reduce or manage your chronic pain.

If you’re living with chronic pain, Floyd Valley provides pain management to improve your quality of life. Providers offer traditional treatments, including medication and other minimally invasive procedures, frequently combined with supplemental physical therapy.
Whether your pain results from injury, illness, trauma, nerve damage, migraine, arthritis or even recovery from surgery, our pain management specialists will help you return to the life you love.
Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)
Floyd Valley Healthcare is pleased to offer Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) – a minimally invasive procedure that uses heat energy to interrupt pain signals along specific nerves, providing lasting relief for patients with chronic pain.
Lumbar RFA (Back Pain)
Lumbar RFA may be right for you if you have experienced more than three months of lower back pain. This procedure is especially effective for pain that may radiate into the legs but generally stays above the knee.
What to Expect:
- Prior to the procedure, two sets of diagnostic injections are required to confirm you are a good candidate.
- The RFA procedure is performed under sedation. You will need to fast beforehand and arrange for a driver. The procedure takes approximately one hour.
- Most patients can expect at least 6 months of 50% or greater pain reduction. If your results are successful, the procedure can be repeated after 6 months.
Genicular RFA (Knee Pain)
Genicular RFA targets the nerves around the knee joint, offering meaningful relief for patients with chronic knee pain who may not be candidates for surgery or who continue to experience pain after a total knee replacement.
You may be a candidate if you have:
- Moderate to severe knee pain lasting longer than 6 months
- Radiologically confirmed grade 2–4 osteoarthritis
- Been determined to be a non-surgical candidate
- Persistent pain following a total knee arthroplasty (TKA)
What to Expect:
- One set of diagnostic injections is required. A positive result means you experience greater than 50% pain relief for 4–6 hours.
- The RFA procedure is performed under sedation. You will need to fast beforehand and arrange for a driver. The procedure takes approximately 45 minutes.
- Most patients can expect at least 6 months of 50% or greater pain reduction, with some data showing up to 2 years of relief. If your results are successful, the procedure can be repeated after 6 months.
